MISSION TO MARS
DAY ONE: Today I bought the tickets. As soon as I confirmed my order I bacame elated and giddy. Laughter bubbled up and out of me, tears stung my eyes. Then just as quickly I shrank back and low and thought, " what the hell am I doing?" "I can't go to a concert in Mansfield at night!" so many nervous, fearfull thoughts raced around my brain like cars in a NASCAR curcuit. "it is too expensive." What if I have a panic attack?" "What if we crash the car on the way there or back?" I could go on and on. BUT, what if nothing goes wrong? What if I have the time of my life? I mean it is only something I have been dreaming about doing for a long time.
The show is five months away but I feel a weird urgency to prepare for it like it was happening tomorrow. I don't really know what I think I should do. Transform myself into a better more interesting person maybe.
A THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS concert is certainly on my bucket list ( I really hate that term) and
going to see my favorite band with my best friend and meeting Jared Leto, that's the most fun I can have. If I go through with this, what is next? Maybe I will run a marathon, climb a mountain, go surfing etc.

Christmas Movies
I am so lame, I just spent twenty minutes online Looking up the Christmas movies schedule for Abc Family, Lifetime and Hallmark. I wrote my favorites down on my calander so I don't miss them. I know some of them are schmaltzy but they make me happy.Can't wait for The March Sisters at Christmas ( an update of Little Women) Nov 2 on lifetime and Snowglobe Dec. 8 on ABC Family.The Christmas Card Nov 4 8pm on Hallmark.

Move in Day
We brought Justin to college today. He is so happy to be there. I am happy for him. It is hard not to have mixed feelings though. I think I have been in denial about his departure for months, since before high school graduation. I know it is a normal, healthy part of life that he grows up and has a desire to get the hell away from me.
I am trying to focus on the good aspects of his moving out. He is going to make new friends, and study interesting subjects, learn to be his own person and find his place in this world.
I will try not to pause in front of the bookcase in the laundry room that holds all his old story books and boardgames. I won't take down Danny And The Dinosaur, flip through the pages and think how he was only three when he could read the whole book. I won't try to recall the last time we played Yahtzee or Candyland or Monopoly or Risk. I will definitely not allow myself to think way back to when he was an infant just a couple of days old in his bassinet late at night not making a peep just staring up at me with his wide curious eyes.

I really wish I could have an appointment with Chase Kusero , Jared's hair stylist. I had my hair cut (she cut way too much off) and colored (Maroon) I asked for reddish brown. I absolutely hate it. I was so mad when I came home I immediately washed it and re-styled. It didn't help. I feel like I can never get what I really want. I always have to settle. It is infuriating.

If there was a Best Hair Award at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, we'd have to present the Moonman to Jared Leto.
The Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman made a head-turning appearance on the red carpet with the most amazing ombré hairstyle we've seen in a long time. (Sorry, Rachel Bilson.) It was shiny, sexy and surprisingly thick for a star whose experimented with just about every hair color. And it was enough to cause a stir on Twitter, as beauty insiders and fans gushed over its utter perfection. (See: here, here and here.)
Naturally we couldn't contain our excitement when celebrity hairstylist Chase Kusero, the mane man behind Leto's ombre hairstyle, shared with us his styling secrets. (Hat tip to celebrity hairstylist Aaron Grenia for adding the finishing touches to this 'do.)
"Jared is the definition of a superstar. He's also naturally cool. The inspiration for this look came months ago when we decided that the classic idea of a rock star didn't really exist anymore," said Kusero. "Fusing modern punk-grunge style with iconic uncut long hair and bleached painted ends is exactly what was right to accept the VMA for Best Rock Video this year."
Leto's shoulder-length strands boast a shape where the interior is really long. "Over-layered hair at this length looks outdated on men and women," explained Kusero. And the stylist used a a hand-painted technique to achieve this ombre look. Keeping the roots natural, sections of hair are picked out and lightened in different phases to create a more custom melted effect.
Below, the five steps to Leto's rockin Video Music Awards hair:
1. Start with clean, freshly washed and conditioned hair using L'Oreal Mythic Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.
2. Apply a generous amount of L'Oreal Mythic Oil mixed with Redken Radiant Sea Spray to damp hair from mid shaft to ends. Add a second application of product as you work towards the ends.
3. Find the natural part, then dry big sections with a Mason Pearson Brush only flattening the bottom while leaving roots and mid shaft to dry naturally as you work through the ends. Tousle dry roots on high heat and low speed if needed to ensure hair is 100 percent dry.
4. Take 10-15 random sized sections of hair and apply heat from a flat iron to bend pieces into place. This will lock in a natural undone wave that borders beachy and grunge.
5. Add Mythic Oil to the ends and mist the entire look with Redken Fashion Work Spray

Save me from myself
Last night I started to feel like I was going to have a panic attack. It really pissed me off because I havent't felt like that for months. I didn't want to have to take something for the anxiety but I kept getting the feeling that I couldn't breath. I tried watching tv but that just annoyed me and the churning unease increased. I tried to take deep breaths but they felt too shallow and the fidgety dread rose to claim me. I put on headphones thinking my playlist of new age music would help, it didn't, it gave the butterflies in my stomach the shakes. I switched to my Jared playlist, turned on Alibi and almost instantly Jared's voice calmed me down. It was as if the sound got inside me and massaged my heart. I could breath again. I could relax. I fell asleep.
